Yesterday we broke ground on our solar panel installation, which should be completed later this week! In the end we’ll have 50x 285 Watt panels that will generate the majority of the electricity used to make syrup. We use lots of power, the Reverse Osmosis unit costs about $2 an hour to run for about 5 hours a day and the vacuum pump costs around $0.50 per hour but runs 24/7! More pictures later this week.
We finally setup five webcams, they’re making things much easier to check with our smartphone/computer app. Currently three are in place, one is setup but having network issues, and one still needs positioned. We eventually want to configure them to post photos to the website every couple of minutes, we know they’re capable but we just need some downtime to do it. Long boil later today, it hit 65° yesterday and ran like crazy!
