Our fourth property near Greenville, almost all of the main lines are laid out and we’ve started running laterals. It’s going to be a sprint to finish in January, then straight to tapping!
Our new 3,000 gallon fuel oil tank. Before the use of Reverse Osmosis (RO) machines it could easily take 4+ gallons of oil to make a gallon of syrup. By boiling sap that’s 16% sugar instead of just the 2% that comes out of the trees, along with the use of a steam pan to preheat incoming sap, we should only need to use around 1/4th of a gallon of oil per gallon of syrup.
