Before tubing our new properties we always like to have a selective cut done by our forester. This frees up canopy space for our maples to grow, eliminates undesirable species and damaged/slow growing trees, and of course produces lumber! This time we decided to keep two trailer loads of timber for future projects. A local Amish mill cut up 3,500 board feet for us. We’ve already used some of the tulip poplar for one of our pump houses, and we plan on using some of the oak and cherry for furniture once it finishes air drying.
